Used Cars and New Roads

Buying a used car

The summer after I graduated college, I was not ready to grow up. I really didn’t want to settle down and be responsible quite yet so I talked my best friend into having one last adventure with me. We were both lucky enough to have landed jobs and had 3 weeks between graduation and when we were going to start working. We also both got pretty nice sign-on bonuses because there was a staff shortage at the hospital where we were going to be working.

So, what did we do with a big chunk of money and 3 weeks off? We went on a road trip. The first thing we did was head to the nearby used car dealerships to buy a van. We figured that we’d save money on motels if we had a vehicle we could sleep in. Plus, I had been looking at used cars anyway because I wanted something a little bigger. We were surprised that we found so many awesome used cars for sale. We settled on a van and headed on our way. Then we went and bought some very cheap car insurance no deposit. Basically no deposit car insurance is the cheapest car insurance in texas . We found it here: http://www.cheapcarinsurancenodeposit.com/

What followed was the most epic few weeks of my life so far. We didn’t even have a destination, we just drove until we saw something that interested us. We slept in the van for the more part but every third night, we tried to find a motel where we could shower and get a free breakfast. We brought my dog along, too, which was awesome. We did countless hikes, swims, and campfires. It truly was the experience of a lifetime.

When we finally had to head home, we were ready. Honestly, we both felt like we’d had one last grand adventure and it was time to settle into our grown up routine. We started our nursing jobs with the intention of focusing on our careers and leaving adventure behind.

But that didn’t happen! For the next 2 years, we planned our vacations together and went on more road trips. It was so much fun not knowing where we were going and just hitting the road. From used car dealerships to the parking garage at work to camping by the river, that old van is still with me. It’s going to be so hard to ever give it up! There are just so many memories and every single ding and dent has a story that I’ll never forget.
